All three levels are available at our Ottery training centre and throughout the year on provisional dates — and if you have a team of 7 or more, we can bring the training to you with on-site delivery at your premises.

Summary:
This entry-level course covers the core principles and practical skills every first aider needs. Over two days, you'll work through emergency scene management, basic anatomy, CPR, wound care, burns, fractures, choking response and patient recovery. It's the starting point for workplace first aid compliance and is suitable for anyone with no prior first aid experience.

What you'll cover:
The course works through five sections of study, giving you a solid grounding in emergency response from the ground up. Topics include understanding your legal responsibilities under the OHS Act, how to assess and manage an emergency scene, basic anatomy and physiology, life-threatening conditions such as choking and cardiac arrest, wound and burn management, fractures and sprains, bleeding control, and how to safely monitor and recover a patient. Practical application is built into the course throughout.

Building on Level 1 foundations, this intermediate course covers a broader range of emergency scenarios and introduces secondary patient assessment, record keeping and workplace first aid policy. Over two days, you'll develop confidence in managing more complex emergencies — including spinal injuries, shock, poisoning, workplace illnesses and incident documentation.

What you'll cover:
Spread across seven sections, this course takes a more detailed approach to emergency care. You'll revisit and reinforce core principles before moving into advanced scene management, full CPR and airway management procedures, secondary head-to-toe patient assessment, a wide range of injuries and medical conditions including fractures, burns, poisoning, snakebite, heart attack, stroke, epilepsy and asthma, as well as the legal requirements around incident reporting, documentation and workplace first aid policy. It bridges the gap between basic response and more capable, confident emergency management.

The most comprehensive first aid qualification we offer. This advanced three-day course covers emergency scene command, detailed anatomy and physiology, advanced life support including AED use, oxygen therapy and CPR, as well as managing shock, disaster scenarios and a wide range of medical emergencies. Suitable for those taking on a lead first aid or health and safety role in their organisation.

What you'll cover:
This course works through six in-depth sections over three days. You'll study advanced emergency care principles and legal obligations, full equipment and kit management, disaster and multi-casualty scene command, comprehensive anatomy and physiology covering all major body systems and associated conditions, advanced life support techniques including CPR, rescue breathing, AED operation and oxygen therapy, as well as the assessment and treatment of a wide range of emergencies — from cardiac events and respiratory conditions to poisoning, snakebite, burns, fractures, heat illnesses and emergency childbirth. The course concludes with shock recognition and management, including diabetic emergencies and fever.
